Baseline validation of a bias-mitigated loan screening model based on the European Banking Authority's trust elements of Big Data & Advanced Analytics applications using Artificial Intelligence

The four-phase research project evaluates whether a machine-learning loan-screening application can identify bad loans while using a minimal set of features unrelated to credit history, gender, race or ethnicity and following European principles for trustworthy AI. The baseline study used historical and active loan datasets and found strong sensitivity, specificity and negative predictive value, supporting further prospective validation of bias-mitigated AI in credit and fintech applications.

A quantum-enhanced precision medicine application to support data-driven clinical decisions for the personalized treatment of advanced knee osteoarthritis: development and preliminary validation of precisionKNEE_QNN

This study investigates a quantum neural network designed to support personalized treatment decisions for advanced knee osteoarthritis. Clinical and demographic data from 170 patients were used to train and test a classifier that distinguishes responders from non-responders, exploring how quantum machine learning may reduce computational complexity in precision-medicine applications.

Gender-specific response in pain and function to biologic treatment of knee osteoarthritis: a gender-bias-mitigated, observational, intention-to-treat study at two years

The observational study examines sex-specific differences in pain and functional response after treatment of knee osteoarthritis with microfragmented fat. It reports a greater improvement among women and describes a reproducible statistical approach intended to quantify and mitigate gender bias, while calling for further work on the biological basis of the observed difference.
